Carrot Kurma

Ingredients

Carrot
- ½ kg
•
Tomatoes
- 2
•
Coconut (dry, scraped)
- ½ cup
•
Green chillies
- 7
•
Ginger
- ½ inch piece
•
Garlic
- 7 flakes
•
Poppy seeds
- 1 teaspoon
•
Onions (big)
- 3
•
Cardamoms
- 2
•
Cloves
- 2
•
Cinnamon
- 1 inch piece
•
Turmeric powder
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Salt
- as required
•
Oil
- 1 tablespoon
Method
1.
Grind
dry
coconut
,
green chillies
,
ginger
,
garlic
and
poppy seeds
.
2.
Scrape
and
cut
carrots
into small pieces and
cook
.
3.
Heat
oil
in a shallow pan
add
the
spices
,
onions
and
fry
.
4. When it is done
add
cut
tomatoes
and
fry
for few minutes.
5.
Add
carrot
and ground
mixture
with just enough
water
.
6.
Boil
till gravy thickens.
7. Suits for puris and chapatis.
