Tamarind Rice - Easy Method

Ingredients
•
Rice
- 1 cup
•
Tamarind
- lime size
•
Red chillies
- 3
•
Coriander seeds
- 1 teaspoon
•
Fenugreek
- a little
•
Pepper
- ½ teaspoon
•
Asafoetidas
- a pinch
•
Turmeric powder
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Gingelly oil
- 2 tablespoons
•
Curry leaves
- few
•
Salt
- as required
Method
1.
Cook
rice
and allow it to cool.
2.
Soak
tamarind
in two cups of
water
and extract.
3.
Strain
and
keep
.
4.
Heat
little
oil
and
fry
broken
red chillies
.
5.
Add
tamarind
pulp with
turmeric powder
and
asafoetida
.
6.
Reduce
the extract to thick pulp.
7.
Add
coarsely powdered
pepper
and
salt
.
8.
Remove
from fire.
9.
Fry
fenugreek
and
coriander seeds
in little
oil
and
powder
.
10.
Add
everything to cooked
rice
and
mix
well.
11.
Heat
little
oil
and
add
it, with
curry leaves
to
rice
.
