Mustard Rice

Rice
- 1 cup
•
Ground nuts (prepare: remove skin & roast)
- 1 ½ tablespoons
•
Cashew nuts
- 1 tablespoon
•
Ghee
- 1 ½ tablespoons
•
Oil
- 2 tablespoons
•
Salt
- as required
Ingredients For Seasoning
•
Mustard seeds
- ½ teaspoon
•
Black gram dal
- 1 teaspoon
•
Bengal gram dal
- 1 teaspoon
•
Red chillies
- few
•
Curry leaves
- few
Ingredients For Grinding Together
•
Coconut (grated, fresh)
- ¼ cup
•
Red chillies
- 8
•
Jaggery
- a little
(optional)
•
Grams (roasted)
- 1 tablespoon
•
Mustard seeds
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Tamarind
- lime size
•
Asafoetidas
- a pinch
Method
1.
Cook
rice
and allow it to cool completely.
2. Separate the grains using a fork.
3.
Heat
oil
and
fry
the
seasonings
till golden brown.
4.
Add
the
ground
masala
and
fry
for few minutes.
5.
Add
to
rice
with enough
salt
and
mix
well.
6.
Heat
ghee
separately and
fry
cashew nuts
and groundnuts.
7.
Pour
over
rice
and
serve
.
