Vegetarian Keema Curry

Ingredients For Making Keema Rolls

Maida
- ½ cup
•
Ghee
- 1 tablespoon
•
Salt

- ½ teaspoon

Cooking soda

Oil (for deep frying)

Ingredients For Making Gravy
•
Onions
- 3
•
Carrots
- 2

Potatoes
- 2
•
Coconut (fresh, grated)
- ¾ cup
•
Oil (for frying)
- as required
•
Green chillies
- 2
•
Turmeric powder
- ½ teaspoon
•
Salt
- as required
•
Cashew nuts (fried)
- 10
•
Wheat flour
- 1 tablespoon
•
Dhania powder
- 1 tablespoon
•
Jeera powder
- ½ teaspoon
•
Coriander leaves (chopped)
- 1 tablespoon
Ingredients For Grinding Together
•
Ginger
- 1 inch piece
•
Garlic
- 7 flakes
•
Tomatoes
- 2
•
Garam masala powder
- 1 teaspoon
•
Aniseeds
- ½ teaspoon
•
Green chillies
- 3
•
Red chilly powder
- 1 teaspoon
Method
1.
Mix
maida
,
salt
,
chilly powder
,
cooking
soda
and
ghee
together.
2.
Add
water
little by little and
prepare
a thick dough (like chapati dough).
3.
Prepare
small balls and shape into oblong pieces (like Gulab Jamoon) and arrange on a greased cooker plate.
4. Steam
cook
for 7 minutes. Allow to cool and
cut
as discs.
5. Deep
fry
in
oil
till golden and
keep
aside.
6.
Slice
onions
and
chillies
lengthwise,
carrot
and
potatoes
finely. Steam
cook
carrots
and
potatoes
.
7.
Add
water
to grated
coconut
,
grind
and
prepare
first, second extract.
Keep
each extract separately.
8.
Grind
aniseed
,
ginger
,
garlic
,
chillies
,
salt
,
garam masala powder
first,
add
tomatoes
at the end.
9.
Grind
well to form a smooth
paste
.
10.
Heat
oil
in a
frying
pan,
add
slit
chillies
, sliced
onions
and
fry
till golden.
11.
Add
cooked
vegetables
,
stir
fry
mashing
it lightly while
frying
.
12.
Add
ground paste
,
cook
till good smell comes and then sprinkle
dhania powder
and
jeera powder
.
13.
Mix
wheat flour
with second extract of
coconut
and
add
to the curry.
14.
Cook
for few minutes,
pour
just enough
water
,
salt
,
turmeric powder
.
15.
Add
deep fried
maida
pieces,
boil
for a minute.
Pour
first extract of
coconut
and
mix
well.
16. When it comes to
boiling
point,
remove
from fire.
17. Garnish with
coriander leaves
and fried
cashew nuts
.
