Urad Coconut Chutney

Ingredients

Red chillies
- 6
•
Urad dal
- 1 ½ tablespoons
•
Coconut (grated, fresh)
- ¼ cup
•
Garlic
- 5 flakes
•
Salt
- as required
•
Tamarind (soaked & extracted)
- small lime size
•
Oil
- as required
Ingredients For Seasoning
•
Oil
- ½ teaspoon
•
Curry leaves
- 2 sprigs
•
Mustard seeds
- ½ teaspoon
Method
1.
Heat
½ Teaspoon of
oil
in a
frying
pan.
2.
Add
red chillies
,
urad
and
roast
until
dal
turns golden.
3.
Add
garlic
,
coconut
, at the end and
fry
until
coconut
turns to a pink colour.
4. Allow to cool and
grind
coarsely with
salt
and soaked
tamarind
.
5.
Heat
½ Teaspoon of
oil
, season
mustard seeds
&
curry leaves
in that
oil
and
add
to chutney.
