Tomato Sweet Chutney

Ingredients
•
Tomato (ripe)
- ½ kg
•
Sugar
- 200 grams
•
Salt
- 1 teaspoon
•
White vinegar
- 2 tablespoons
Method To Powder Coarsely
1. Peeled small onions - 3
2. Scraped ginger - 1 inch piece
3. Garlic - 2 flakes
4. Red chillies - 5
5. Cardamoms - 2
6. Cinnamon - 1 inch piece
Method
1.
Heat
water
in a broad vessel.
2. When it starts
boiling
add
washed
tomatoes
, allow to
boil
once and
remove
from fire.
3. Close with a lid and
keep
aside for few minutes.
4.
Strain
the
water
,
remove
outer skin of
tomatoes
and
mash
it.
5.
Strain
through large eyed strainer.
6. Pound above
ingredients
coarsely and tie it in a piece of muslin cloth.
7. To the strained
tomato
puree
add
the
spice
tied in muslin cloth,
salt
,
sugar
and
boil
steadily in medium flame.
8.
Stir
in between and
boil
steadily until it reaches sauce consistency.
9. Switch off the stove, discard
masala
bag
add
vinegar
, allow to cool and bottle it.
