Tomato Gotsu

Ingredients

Tomato (ripe)
- ½ kg
•
Salt
- as required
•
Onions (large, chopped)
- 2
•
Oil (for frying)
- as required
Ingredients For Grinding Together
•
Red chillies
- 7
•
Dhania
- 1 tablespoon
•
Cumin seeds
- 1 ½ teaspoons
•
Coconut (grated, fresh)
- ¼ cup
•
Bengal gram dal
- 2 teaspoons
Method
1.
Heat
water
in a broad vessel.
2. When it starts
boiling
slip
tomatoes
in it one by one.
3. Allow to
boil
once and switch off the stove.
4. Allow to cool,
strain
water
,
remove
outer skin and
mash
it well.
5.
Heat
oil
in a '
frying
pan'
add
cut
onions
and
fry
until golden.
6.
Add
ground paste
and
stir
until good aroma comes from the
masala
.
7.
Add
salt
and mashed
tomatoes
.
8. Allow to
boil
for few minutes.
9.
Serve
with idli, pongal varieties.
