Tomato Chutney

Ingredients

Onions
- 2

Tomato
- ½ kg
•
Green chillies
- 6
•
Salt
- as required
•
Sugar
- 1 teaspoon
•
Gram powder (roasted)
- 1 tablespoon
•
Chilly powder
- ½ teaspoon
•
Garam masala
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Oil
- 1 ½ tablespoons
•
Coriander leaves
- ½ bunch
•
Cashew nuts (chopped)
- 2 tablespoons
Method
1.
Cut
onions
and
tomatoes
finely.
2. Slit
green chillies
into two.
3.
Heat
oil
in a pan, season with mustard, black
gram
dal
and Bengal
gram
dal
.
4.
Add
slit
green chillies
,
onions
,
fry
well, till the
onion
changes its colour.
5.
Add
cut
tomatoes
and
fry
till the
tomato
skin comes off from it.
6. Now
pour
little
water
with
salt
and
sugar
.
7. Allow it to
boil
, till it thickens.
8.
Add
garam masala
,
chilly powder
and roasted
gram powder
.
9.
Cook
for a minute and
remove
from fire.
10. Garnish with
coriander leaves
.
11.
Serve
hot with idlis or chapatis.
12. Decorate with fried
cashew nuts
.
