Thuar Dal Chutney

Ingredients

Thuar dal
- ¼ cup
•
Peeling small onions
- 10
•
Red chillies
- 8
•
Tamarind (soaked & extracted)
- small lime size
•
Salt
- as required
•
Coriander leaves
- ½ bunch
•
Curry leaves
- 2 sprigs
•
Oil
- as required
•
Mustard seeds
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Cumin seeds
- ½ teaspoon
•
Asafoetida
- 2 pinches
Method
1.
Fry
red chillies
,
thuar dal
until golden brown using little ghee.
2. Transfer the roasted
ingredients
in a plate.
3. In that same
frying
pan
fry
small
onions
using little
oil
.
4.
Grind
roasted
ingredients
along with
salt
,
tamarind
,
coriander
,
curry leaves
until coarse chutney consistency.
5.
Add
fried
onion
at the end and
grind
again.
6. Season
mustard
,
cumin
in little
oil
,
mix
asafoetida powder
in that hot
oil
itself and
add
to chutney.
7.
Mix
well and
serve
.
