Sweet And Sour Vegetables

Ingredients

Oil

Soya sauce
- 2 tablespoons

Brown vinegar
- ¼ cup

Ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon

Carrot
- 1

Peas
- ¼ cup

Cabbages (cut into thin pieces)
- ¼ cup
•
Capsicum
- ½
•
Cucumber
- ½
•
Onions
- 3

Baby corns
- 6
Method
1.
Cut
onions
into one inch square pieces and
soak
it in
water
for one hour.
2.
Cut
other
vegetables
into ½ inch pieces.
3. Steam
beans
,
baby corn
,
carrot
,
peas
,
cabbage
etc. in pressure cooker.
4. The
vegetables
should not become very soft.
5. Take 2 Teaspoons of
corn
flour, dissolve in 1 cup of
water
.
6.
Boil
tomatoes
with just enough
water
for 1 minute.
7.
Remove
the skin and
make
into
paste
.
8.
Heat
oil
in a pan and
fry
the mashed
tomatoes
,
tomato sauce
,
stir
for few minutes,
add
sugar
and
stir
till it dissolves.
9.
Mix
cornflour
paste
and continue
stirring
.
10. When it becomes thick,
add
vinegar
,
onions
, (squeeze without
water
)
capsicum
and
cucumber
pieces.
11.
Cook
for few minutes,
add
boiled
vegetables
,
salt
,
pepper
powder
,
cook
for a few minutes and
remove
from fire.
12. This is a Chinese side dish.
13.
Serve
with noodles or Chinese fried rice.
