Surkh Chicken

Ingredients
•
Chicken (cut into 8 pieces)
- 1 kg
•
Red chillies (dried, prepare: deseeded & soaked in water for an hour)
- 20
•
Oil
- 2 teaspoons
•
Tomatoes (chopped)
- 2
•
Salt
- 1 teaspoon
•
Dhania powder
- 2 teaspoons
•
Garlic paste
- 2 teaspoons
•
Ginger paste
- 2 teaspoons
•
Onions
- 2
•
Garam masala powder
- 2 teaspoons
•
Coriander leaves (for garnishing)
- a little
Method
1.
Grind
soaked
red chillies
and
onion
in the grinder to a fine
paste
.
2. In a non stick pan
heat
oil
.
Fry
ground paste
for 1-2 minutes.
Add
ginger
&
garlic paste
.
Cook
for 2-3 minutes.
3.
Add
tomatoes
and all
seasonings
.
Cook
for 2-3 minutes till
tomatoes
are tender.
4.
Add
chicken
.
Cook
for 2-3 minutes.
5.
Cover
and
cook
till
chicken
is tender (This is when you want it dry)
Method To Make Gravy Dish
1.
Add
2 cups of
water
.
Mix
well.
2.
Boil
,
cover
. Lower
heat
and
simmer
for 15-20 minutes or till
chicken
tender.
3. Garnish with fresh chopped
coriander leaves
.
