Sprouted Green Gram Sabzi

Ingredients
•
Green grams (whole)
- 1 cup
•
Onions
- 5
•
Green chillies
- 3
•
Tamarind (soaked & extracted)
- small lime size
•
Oil
- 1 tablespoon
•
Dhania powder
- 2 teaspoons
•
Jeera powder
- ½ teaspoon
•
Red chilly powder
- ½ teaspoon
•
Salt
- as required
•
Sugar
- 1 teaspoon
Method
1.
Soak
green gram
for 10 hours in enough
water
.
2.
Strain
and tie it in a muslin cloth.
3. Allow it to sprout for one day.
4.
Cut
onions
finely.
5. Slit
green chillies
.
6.
Soak
tamarind
in
water
and
prepare
thick
tamarind
pulp.
7.
Heat
oil
.
8.
Fry
onions
and
chillies
, till light brown in colour.
9.
Add
sprouted
gram
, sprinkle
water
close with a lid and
keep
in a low flame till the
gram
is cooked.
10.
Pour
tamarind
extract,
salt
, other
spice
powders and
cook
.
11.
Serve
it garnished with finely
cut
onion
, coriander
leaves
.
12. Makes a delicious chat, as well as good side dish for chapatis.
