Saagu for Rawa Idli

Ingredients

Onions
- 4

Potato
- ½ kg
•
Green chillies
- 8
•
Ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tablespoon
•
Tomatoes
- 3
•
Turmeric powder
- ½ teaspoon
•
Salt
- as required
•
Lemon
- 1
•
Oil
- 2 tablespoons
•
Coriander leaves
- a little
Ingredients For Seasoning

Mustard seeds
- ½ teaspoon
•
Black gram dal
- 1 teaspoon
•
Bengal gram dal
- 1 teaspoon
•
Curry leaves
- 1 sprig
Method
1.
Peel
skin from
onion
and
potatoes
,
cut
into 1 inch long thin slices.
2. Slit
green chillies
into two,
cut
tomatoes
as finely as possible.
3.
Heat
oil
,
add
the
seasonings
,
fry
ginger garlic paste
,
green chillies
and then
cut
onions
.
4.
Fry
till
onions
become translucent
add
cut
potatoes
and
fry
for few minutes.
5.
Pour
enough
water
to
cover
it.
6.
Mix
salt
and
turmeric powder
.
7.
Cover
and
keep
in a medium flame.
8.
Add
cut
tomatoes
,
stir
well and
boil
once again till the gravy becomes thick and
potatoes
are cooked well.
9. Squeeze out
lemon
juice and
mix
in
cut
coriander leaves
.
