Red Onion Chutney

Ingredients

Onions (big)
- 4
•
Red chillies
- 20
•
Tamarind (soaked & extracted)
- lime size
•
Rock salt
- 1 ½ tablespoons
•
Sugar
- 1 teaspoon
•
Oils for tampering
- 2 tablespoons
•
Mustard seeds
- ¼ teaspoon
Method
1.
Chop
onions
into 1 inch square pieces.
2.
Soak
red chillies
in
water
for 15 minutes.
3. Squeeze out
chillies
alone and
grind
it with
salt
,
tamarind
and
sugar
.
4.
Add
onions
at the end and
grind
coarsely.
5.
Heat
oil
and
tamper
mustard seeds
in it and
pour
on top of chutney.
Note
• As this chutney is very hot
serve
with melted ghee on top.
