Red Onion Chutney

Ingredients

• • Onions (big) - 4
• • Red chillies - 20
• • Tamarind (soaked & extracted) - lime size
• • Rock salt - 1 ½ tablespoons
• • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
• • Oils for tampering - 2 tablespoons
• • Mustard seeds - ¼ teaspoon

Method

• 1. Chop onions into 1 inch square pieces.
• 2. Soak red chillies in water for 15 minutes.
• 3. Squeeze out chillies alone and grind it with salt, tamarind and sugar.
• 4. Add onions at the end and grind coarsely.
• 5. Heat oil and tamper mustard seeds in it and pour on top of chutney.

Note

• • As this chutney is very hot serve with melted ghee on top.
