Red Chilly Chutney

Ingredients

• • Red chillies (long) - 5
• • Tamarind - lemon size
• • Garlic (peeled) - 3 flakes
• • Urad dal - 1 teaspoon
• • Salt - 1 teaspoon
• • Oil - 2 teaspoons
• • Mustard seeds - ¼ teaspoon
• • Asafoetida - 2 pinches

Method

• 1. Heat little oil in a frying pan and roast chillies and urad dal.
• 2. Transfer to a plate.
• 3. Soak tamarind in water and prepare a thick extract.
• 4. Grind roasted ingredients along with salt, garlic, to a coarse paste.
• 5. Heat little oil, add mustard, asafoetida and ground paste.
• 6. Fry for a minute and pour tamarind extract.
• 7. Allow to boil and remove from fire.
