Raw Tomato Chutney

Ingredients

Tomato (raw)
- ¼ kg
•
Onions
- 2
•
Green chillies
- 5
•
Salt
- as required
•
Sugar
- 1 teaspoon
Ingredients For Seasoning
•
Mustard seeds
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Urad dal
- ½ teaspoon
•
Bengal gram dal
- ½ teaspoon
Method
1. Select raw
tomatoes
that has turned to little light green colour. (Just before ripening consistency)
2. Discard dark green ones.
3.
Wash
and
chop
it finely.
4.
Cut
onions
and
chillies
finely.
5.
Heat
oil
in a
frying
pan and
fry
chillies
,
onion
, until it turns translucent.
6.
Add
tomatoes
and
fry
until moisture evaporate.
7. Allow to cool thoroughly and
grind
to coarse chutney consistency along with
salt
,
sugar
.
8.
Heat
little
oil
separately, season
mustard
,
urad dal
,
bengal gram dal
and
mix
with chutney.
9.
Serve
with Idli, dosa, chapati varieties.
