Raw Mango Sweet - Spicy Chutney

Ingredients

• • Mangoes (raw) - 2
• • Red chillies - 4
• • Ginger - ½ inch piece
• • Sugar - 2 teaspoons
• • Salt - as required
• • Turmeric powder - ¼ teaspoon
• • Oil - as required

Ingredients For Seasoning

• • Mustard seeds - ¼ teaspoon
• • Fenugreek seed - 2 pinches
• • Cumin seed - 2 pinches
• • Curry leaves - 2 sprigs
• • Asafoetida powder - 2 pinches

Method

• 1. Scrape outer skin and slice mangoes into thin broad pieces.
• 2. Grind ginger, chillies together to a fine paste.
• 3. Heat oil in a 'frying pan' add mustard, fenugreek, cumin seeds, curry leaves, asafoetida and then ground paste.
• 4. Fry for a minute and add sliced mangoes.
• 5. Stir for few minutes and pour little water. (Until mango pieces are immersed in that water)
• 6. Add salt, turmeric powder, sugar and boil until it reaches thick consistency.
