Raw Jack Fruit Kootu

Ingredients
•
Thuar dal
- ¾ cup
•
Jack fruits (small, raw, cut into squares)
- 1 ½ cups
•
Onions (finely cut)
- ½ cup
•
Salt
- as required
•
Red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon
•
Curry leaves
- 2 sprigs
Ingredients For Seasoning
•
Oil
- 2 teaspoons
•
Cumin seeds
- ½ teaspoon
•
Urad dal
- 1 teaspoon
Method
1. Pressure
cook
thuar dal
and
add
jack fruit
in different vessels for 3 whistles. (with just enough
water
)

Add
salt
, chilly
powder
to the cooked jack with just enough
water
.
3.
Boil
for few minutes and then
add
cooked
thuar dal
(Do not over
cook
thuar dal
).
4.
Heat
oil
in a pan
add
cumin seeds
,
urad dal
,
curry leaves
and then
onion
.
5.
Fry
well and
pour
on top of the kootu.
6. Allow to
boil
for 2 more minutes and
remove
from fire.
