Tamarind extract (thin)
- 2 tablespoons

Turmeric powder
- 2 pinches

Coconut oil
- 1 tablespoon
Ingredients For Grind Together
•
Coconut (grated, fresh)
- 1 ½ cups
•
Green chillies
- 10
•
Cumin seeds
- 1 ½ teaspoons
•
Rice (raw, soaked in water)
- 2 tablespoons
•
Onions (peeled, small)
- 2
•
Garlic (peeled)
- 2 flakes
Method
1.
Cut
all the
vegetables
into 2 inch length pieces.
2. Pressure
cook
potato
and Colocaesia.
Peel
and
keep
separately.
3.
Boil
other
vegetables
in enough
water
with
turmeric powder
.
4.
Add
cooked diced
potato
,
colocasia
,
salt
,
tamarind extract
and
ground paste
to that. Allow to
boil
, until thick.
5. Before
removing
from fire,
heat
coconut oil
and
pour
on top of the avial.
Cover
with a
plantain
leaf
.
