Ingredients

Mutton (leg portion)
- 1 kg
•
Ginger
- 2 inch pieces
•
Garlic
- 6 flakes
•
Dalchini/Cinnamon stick
- 1
•
Moti elaichis/Black cardamoms
- 4
•
Water
- 2 cups
•
Salt
- as required
•
Oil
- 3 tablespoons
•
Onions (finely sliced)
- 2
•
Tomatoes (finely chopped)
- 3
•
Pudinas/Mint leaves (finely chopped)
- 2 bunches
•
Whole green chillies
- 5
•
Coriander/Dhania leaf (finely chopped)
- 1 small bunch
•
Jeera powder/Cumin seeds powder
- 1 teaspoon
•
Dhania powder/Coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon
•
Chilly powder
- 1 teaspoon
•
Garam masala (for garnishing)
- a little
Method
1.
Cook
mutton
pieces with the
ginger
,
garlic
,
cinnamon stick
,
elaichi
,
salt
and
water
in a pressure cooker until just tender.
2.
Drain
,
remove
the whole
spices
and
keep
the
mutton
aside.
3.
Heat
oil
in a kadai and
fry
the
onion
slices until golden brown.
Drain
and
keep
aside.
4.
Add
the drained
mutton
to the hot
oil
and
fry
for 2-3 minutes.
5.
Add
the chopped
tomatoes
,
jeera powder
,
dhania powder
,
chilly powder
,
whole green chillies
, chopped
mint
and
coriander
leaves
.
6.
Mix
gently and
fry
over medium
heat
for 3-4 minutes.
7.
Add
the fried
onions
and sprinkle the
garam masala
.
8.
Serve
hot with chapatis.
