Peas Bhath

Ingredients

Rice
- 1 cup

Green peas (fresh)
- ¾ cup
•
Onions
- 3
•
Salt
- as required
•
Turmeric powder
- ½ teaspoon
•
Lemon
- 1
•
Coriander leaves (cut)
- 1 tablespoon
•
Oil
- 2 ½ tablespoons
•
Ghee
- as required
Ingredients For Seasoning
•
Mustard seeds
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Black gram dal
- 1 teaspoon
•
Bengal gram dal
- 1 teaspoon
•
Cashew nuts (broken)
- 1 tablespoon
•
Curry leaves
- 2 sprigs
Ingredients For Grinding Together
•
Coconut (grated, fresh)
- ½ cup
•
Green chillies
- 7
•
Ginger
- ½ inch piece
•
Onions (small)
- 6
•
Garlic
- 4
•
Cloves
- 2
•
Cardamoms
- 2
•
Cinnamon
- 1 piece
Method
1.
Cook
rice
till each grain is separate.
2.
Spread
over abroad basin and allow it to cool.
3.
Cook
peas
separately till soft.
4.
Cut
onions
finely.
5.
Heat
oil
and
fry
the
seasonings
till it becomes brown and
add
onions
.
6.
Fry
till crisp.
7.
Add
peas
with ground
masala
paste
and
fry
till raw flavour is lost.
8.
Add
salt
,
turmeric powder
and cooked
rice
.
9.
Fry
in a high flame till everything is mixed well.
10.
Remove
from fire,squeeze
lemon
juice and
mix
well.
11. Garnish with
cut
coriander leaves
.
12.
Fry
garlic
,
onion
,
cardamom
,
cinnamon
, and
cloves
in
ghee
and
grind
along with other
ingredients
.
