Onion Ragi Roti

Ingredients
•
Ragi flour
- 1 cup
•
Onion
- 1
•
Green chillies
- 3
•
Ginger
- 1 inch piece
•
Salt
- ½ teaspoon
•
Oil (for the dough)
- 2 teaspoons
•
Hot water
- as required
Method
1.
Add
salt
and
oil
to the
ragi flour
.
2.
Mix
chopped
onions
, crushed
ginger
and
green chillies
.
3. Knead to dough using
hot water
.
4.
Spread
each portion on a greased plantain
leaf
or wet cloth.
5. Put over a
hot
'tawa' and carefully
remove
the
leaf
.
6.
Add
oil
around and
cook
well turning both sides.
7.
Serve
with
onion
chutney.
Variations - Carrot Ragi Roti
•
Grate
carrots using thin grater.
•
Mix
ragi flour
1 cup, rice
flour
l cup and roasted gram
flour
1 Tablespoon with finely
cut
green chillies
and coriander
leaves
.
•
Mix
the dough using
cold water
.
• Grated cucumbers also can be used to
prepare
the dough.
Note
• Use dough immediately after
mixing
.
