Mutton Malai

Ingredients
•
Boneless mutton (cut into 1 inch cubes)
- 750 grams
•
Lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons
•
Dahi/Curd (thick)
- ½ cup
•
Malai/Thick cream
- 3 tablespoons
•
Nutmeg powder/Jaiphals
- ½ teaspoon
•
Choti elaichi powder/Green cardamoms
- ½ teaspoon
•
Ginger paste
- 1 ½ teaspoons
•
Garlic paste
- 1 ½ teaspoons
•
Garam masala
- 1 teaspoon
•
Coriander leaves (finely chopped)
- ½ cup
•
Onions (finely sliced)
- 2
•
Oil
- 1 tablespoon
•
Jeera/Cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon
•
Salt
- as required
Method
1.
Mix
the
boneless mutton
cubes with the
lemon juice
and
salt
and leave aside for 2 hours.
2.
Mix
the
mutton
with the
ginger paste
,
garlic paste
,
dahi
,
malai
,
nutmeg powder
,
elaichi
powder
, and
salt
.
3. Leave to
marinate
overnight.
4.
Heat
oil
in a heavy bottomed pan and
add
jeera
.
5. When it splutters,
add
the
mutton
with the
marinade
.
Cover
and
simmer
until just tender.
6.
Add
the sliced
onions
,
garam masala
and fresh
coriander leaves
.
7.
Cook
for 10-15 minutes on medium flame.
Serve
hot with parathas.
