Ingredients For Making Poli Dough
•
Maida
- 1 cup
•
Ghee
- 1 tablespoon
•
Salt
- a pinch
•
Oil (for deep frying)
- as required
Ingredients For Making Payasam
•
Coconut (grated, fresh)
- 1 cup
•
Cashew nuts
- 1 ½ tablespoons
•
Poppy seeds
- 1 tablespoon
•
Jaggery
- 1 ¼ cups
•
Milk
- 2 cups
•
Cardamom powder
- ½ teaspoon
Method To Make Chapatis
1.
Mix
ghee
and
salt
with
maida
.
2.
Add
water
gradually and
prepare
a stiff dough.
3.
Keep
closed under a wet cloth for 15 minutes.
4. Knead again till dough becomes elastic and flexible.
5.
Prepare
small balls from the dough and
roll
it out into very thin chapatis.
6. Deep
fry
in hot
oil
till crisp.
Method To Make Payasam
1.
Grind
cashews
,
cardamom
,
poppy
and
coconut
to a fine
paste
.
2.
Mix
it with
milk
and
jaggery
.
3.
Cook
in reduced flame till
jaggery
melts completely.
4.
Dip
maida
appalam one by one in hot payasam, fold it into four like a triangle and arrange on a flat plate side by side.
5.
Pour
more payasam on top while
serving
.
