Mango Barfi

Ingredients
•
Water
- 1 cup
•
Sugar
- ½ cup
•
Alphonso mangoes (pulp)
- 3
•
Mawa/Khoya
- 200 grams
•
Saffron (dissolved in hot milk)
- 20
•
Ghee
- 4 tablespoons
•
Cardamom powder
- 2 teaspoons
•
Almonds (for garnishing)
- 1 tablespoon
•
Pistachios (for garnishing)
- 1 tablespoon
Method
1.
Heat
water
in a sauce pan. Dissolve
sugar
and
make
into a thick syrup.
Keep
aside.
2. In a heavy bottom sauce pan,
add
mango
pulp and
mawa
.
Mix
well.
Cook
until the
mixture
thickens.
3.
Add
sugar
syrup and
saffron
.
Keep
stirring
until the
mixture
is very thick.
4.
Add
ghee
,
cardamom powder
,
almond
and
pistachio
.
Mix
well.
5. Grease a plate and
pour
the barfi
mixture
into it.
Keep
until cool.
6.
Cut
into pieces and
serve
!
