Ingredients

Thuar dal
- ¾ cup
•
Green mango
- 1
•
Green chillies
- 10
•
Onion (big)
- 1
•
Tamarind extract (thin)
- 1 tablespoon
•
Salt
- as required
•
Red chilly powder
- ½ teaspoon
•
Turmeric powder
- ½ teaspoon
Ingredients For Seasoning
•
Oil
- 2 teaspoons
•
Mustard seeds
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Urad dal
- ½ teaspoon
Ingredients For Garnishing
•
Curry leaves
- few
•
Coriander leaves
- a little
Method
1.
Cut
onions
finely and
green chillies
into ½ inch round pieces.
2.
Scrape
outer skin of
mango
and
dice
into l inch cubes.
3. Pressure
cook
dal
with
turmeric powder
in just enough
water
.
4.
Cook
onion
,
green chillies
,
mango
pieces in thin
tamarind extract
till soft.
5.
Add
cooked
dal
,
salt
and
chilly
powder
.
6.
Cook
till
dal
becomes thick.
7.
Heat
little
oil
,
add
seasonings
and
pour
over
dal
.
8. Garnish with
curry leaves
,
coriander leaves
.
Note
• Omit or
reduce
tamarind extract
if
mangoes
are very sour.
