Ingredients
•
Mutton (assorted cuts)
- 500 grams
•
Tomato puree
- 3 tablespoons
•
Onions (finely chopped)
- 2
•
Oil
- 3 tablespoons
•
Sesame seeds/Tils
- 1 teaspoon
•
Poppy seeds/Khus khus
- 1 teaspoon
•
Whole red chillies (dry)
- 4
•
Ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon
•
Garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon
•
Cloves/Laungs
- 4
•
Peppercorns
- 8
•
Cinnamon stick/Dalchini
- 1
•
Salt
- as required
•
Coriander leaves (chopped, for garnishing)
- a few
Method
1. In a
frying
pan, dry
roast
the
sesame seeds
,
poppy seeds
,
cloves
,
peppercorns
,
cinnamon
&
whole red chillies
.
Grind
&
keep
aside.
2.
Heat
oil
in a heavy bottomed pan.
Fry
onions
until light brown.
3.
Add
the
ginger
&
garlic pastes
&
fry
for 2-3 minutes.
4.
Add
the roasted
spice
mixture
and the
tomato puree
.
Add
the
mutton
and
salt
.
5.
Simmer
and
cover
for at least 45 minutes,
stirring
occasionally until
mutton
is cooked.
6.
Add
¾ cup of
water
if
mutton
starts to
stick
.
7. Garnish with
coriander leaves
&
serve
hot with naan.
