Lotus Stem Kabab

Ingredients
•
Bheins/Lotus stems
- 2
•
Besan/Gram flour
- 4 tablespoons
•
Onions (finely chopped)
- 2
•
Green chillies (finely chopped)
- 2
•
Hara dhania/Green coriander (finely chopped)
- 3 tablespoons
•
Jeera/Cumin seeds powder
- ¾ teaspoon
•
Garam masala
- ¾ teaspoon
•
Salt
- as required
•
Oil
- 3 tablespoons
Method
1.
Scrape
the outer skin of the
bhein
.
Cut
into small pieces and
wash
thoroughly.
Drain
and dry on a kitchen towel.
2.
Grind
the
bhein
in a food processor until it resembles coarse bread crumbs.
3.
Mix
with the remaining
ingredients
except the
oil
.
4. Rub a little
oil
on your hands and shape the
mixture
into small kababs.
5.
Heat
1 Tablespoon
oil
in a
frying
pan.
6.
Fry
the kababs over low flame until golden brown turning over once.
7.
Remove
from pan and
fry
the remaining kababs in the same manner
adding
more
oil
, only if necessary.
8.
Serve
hot with Tomato chutney or Pudina chutney.
