Khus Masala Sukha Chicken

Ingredients
•
Chicken (cut into 8 pieces)
- 800 grams
•
Saboot dhania/Coriander seeds
- 2 tablespoons
•
Jeera/Cumin seeds
- 2 tablespoons
•
Whole red chillies (dried)
- 5
•
Saboot kali mirches/Pepper corns
- 6
•
Khus khus/Poppy seeds
- 1 tablespoon
•
Freshly grated coconut
- 4 tablespoons
•
Onions (chopped finely)
- 3
•
Garlic (chopped finely)
- 2 tablespoons
•
Ginger (chopped finely)
- 2 tablespoons
•
Curry leaves
- 2 sprigs
•
Haldis/Turmeric powder
- ½ teaspoon
•
Salt
- 1 teaspoon
•
Lemon juice
- 3 tablespoons
•
Oil
- 5 tablespoons
Ingredients For Garnishing
•
Green chillies (slit)
- 3
•
Coriander (fresh)
- a little
Method
1. Dry
roast
on a non stick pan or tawa -
saboot dhania
,
jeera
, red
chillies
,
saboot kali mirch
. Dry
grind
to a
powder
.
Keep
aside.
2. In the same pan, dry
roast
the
khus khus
and
coconut
for 1 minute.
3. Cool and
blend
to a smooth
paste
by
adding
little
water
.
Keep
aside.
4.
Heat
oil
in a pan.
Add
onions
.
Cook
till brown.
Add
the
ginger
,
garlic
and
curry
patta.
Cook
for ½ minute.
5.
Add
salt
,
haldi
and freshly ground
powder
.
Stir
and
add
the
chicken
pieces.
6.
Roast
on medium
heat
till all the
water
left by
chicken
evaporates and
masala
coats the
chicken
pieces (if needed,
add
a little
water
to
roast
).
7.
Add
coconut
&
khus khus
paste
.
Stir
.
8. Lower the
heat
and
add
½ cup
water
.
Cover
and
cook
till
chicken
becomes tender.
9.
Add
lemon juice
.
Cook
till
masala
coats the
chicken
pieces.
10.
Serve
garnished with
green chillies
&
coriander
.
