Khus Khus Payasam

Ingredients
•
Khus-khus/Poppy seeds
- 1 cup
•
Sugar
- 1 ¼ cups
•
Milk
- ½ cup
Method
1.
Wash
and
grind
poppy seeds
to a fine
paste
with minimum
water
possible. (Hand
grinding
gives best results).
2. After
grinding
,
wash
the stone and take that
water
also along with
poppy
paste
.
3.
Add
sugar
and place it in a heavy, thick bottom, deep pan.
4.
Heat
in high flame for few minutes,
stirring
in between till
sugar
is dissolved.
5.
Reduce
and
cook
in low flame closed with a lid.
Stir
occasionally.
6. When raw smell is gone, payasam gets a shine.
Add
milk
and
mix
gently.
7.
Remove
from fire after a minute.
Method To Grind Poppy In Mixie
1.
Soak
it in
hot water
for 2 to 3 hours.
2.
Strain
excess
water
and
grind
to smooth
paste
.
