Khoya Makkana Paneer Curry

Ingredients
•
Onions (grated)
- ¾ cup
•
Sugarless milk khoya
- 100 grams
•
Milk
- ½ cup
•
Oil/Butter (for frying)
- as required
•
Curd (fresh, thick)
- 1 cup
•
Red chilly powder
- 1 teaspoon
•
Dhania powder
- 1 tablespoon
•
Salt
- as required
•
Garam masala powder
- ½ teaspoon
•
Tomatoes (chopped)
- ¼ cup
•
Peas (cooked)
- ½ cup
•
Makkanas/Puffed up lotus seeds
- ¼ cup
•
Paneers (cut into cubes)
- ½ cup
•
Coriander leaves (for garnishing)
- as required
Method
1. Deep
fry
paneer
cubes in medium hot
oil
till light brown.
2. Plunge it in warm
water
till required.
3.
Roast
makkana
lightly in little
oil
and
keep
aside.
4.
Heat
oil
,
butter
together in a broad
frying
pan and
fry
grated
onion
till golden.
5.
Add
dhania powder
,
salt
,
chilly
powder
,
garam masala
and chopped
tomatoes
.
6.
Stir
for 2 or 3 minutes.
7.
Mix
whipped
curds
and
cook
till
oil
floats on top.
8.
Add
cooked
peas
,
makkana
with just enough
water
.
9.
Cook
till gravy becomes thick.
10.
Add
milk
,
paneer
cubes. When it attains
boiling
temperature,
remove
from fire.
11. Garnish with
coriander leaves
.
