Keerai Masiyal with Onion

Ingredients

Onions
- 2
•
Amaranth leaves/Keerais (finely chopped)
- 3 cups
•
Green chillies
- 8
•
Mango (raw, sour, green)
- ½
•
Brinjals (tender)
- 2
•
Tamarind extract
- a little
•
Salt
- as required
•
Sugar
- as required
•
Tomato
- 1
(optional)
•
Red chilly powder
- ½ teaspoon
Ingredients For Seasoning
•
Oil
- 2 teaspoons
•
Mustard seeds
- ½ teaspoon
•
Black gram dal
- 1 teaspoon
•
Bengal gram dal
- 1 teaspoon
Method
1.
Scrape
outer skin and
cut
mango
into fine pieces.
2. Mince
green chillies
.
3.
Cut
all the
vegetables
and
keerai
into very fine pieces.
4.
Mix
everything in a vessel,
add
salt
,
sugar
,
red chilly powder
tamarind extract
and pressure
cook
for 7 to 10 minutes.
5. When it is cooked,
mash
well and
heat
again for few minutes.
6.
Heat
little
oil
,
add
seasoning
and
pour
over cooked mashed
keerai
and
mix
well.
