Karamani Sweet Sundal

Ingredients
•
Karamanis
- 1 cup
•
Oil
- 1 teaspoon
•
Mustard seeds
- ½ teaspoon
•
Red chillies
- 2
•
Jaggery
- ¼ cup
•
Coconut (grated)
- 3 tablespoons
•
Cardamom powder
- a pinch
•
Salt
- as required
Method
1.
Soak
the
karamani
overnight.
2. Next day,
drain
the
water
.
3.
Add
fresh
water
and pressure
cook
the
karamani
with
salt
till it is soft.
4. Allow for only 2-3 whistles.
5.
Drain
any excess
water
.
6.
Heat
a teaspoon of
oil
in a pan,
add
mustard seeds
, when it splutters,
add
red chilly
.
7.
Add
cooked
karamani
and
mix
well.
8. Then
add
jaggery
and
mix
well.
9.
Keep
the flame to low and
stir
continuously till the
karamani
and
jaggery
blends well.
10.
Remove
and
add
cardamom powder
and
mix
well.
