Karamani Sundal

Ingredients

Karamanis
- 1 cup
•
Salt
- as required
•
Oil
- 2 teaspoons
•
Mustard seeds
- ½ teaspoon
•
Red chillies
- 2
•
Curry leaves
- 1 sprig
•
Hings
- a pinch
•
Coconut (grated)
- 3 tablespoons
Method
1.
Soak
the
Karamani
overnight.
2. Next day,
drain
the
water
.
3.
Add
fresh
water
and pressure
cook
the
Karamani
with
salt
till it is soft. Allow for only 2-3 whistles
4.
Drain
any excess
water
.
5.
Heat
a teaspoon of
oil
in a pan,
add
mustard seeds
, when it splutters,
add
red chilly
,
curry leaves
and
hing
.
6.
Add
the cooked
lentil
, grated
coconut
and
mix
it well.
