Ingredients

Ivy gourd/Kovaikkai (slice into 4 lengthwise)
- 200 grams
•
White kabuli channas
- ¼ cup
•
Onions (chopped)
- 2 tablespoons
•
Salt
- as required
•
Oil
- as required
Ingredients For Grinding Together (1)

Red chillies
- 5
•
Coriander seeds
- 1 tablespoon
•
Tamarind extract
- a little
Ingredients For Grinding Coarsely (with Out Adding Water) (2)

Garlic
- 3 flakes
•
Cumin seeds
- ½ teaspoon
•
Coconut (grated, fresh)
- 1 ½ tablespoons
Method
1. Dry
roast
"For
Grinding
together (1)"
ingredients
and
grind
with little
tamarind
to a smooth
paste
.
Keep
aside.
2.
Soak
channa
in enough
water
for 10 to 12 hours and then pressure
cook
for 15 to 20 minutes.
3.
Drain
excess
water
through a colander.
4. Steam
cook
onion
and sliced
kovaikkai
together in pressure cooker.
5.
Heat
oil
and
fry
cooked
Ivy Gourd
,
channa
along with
ground paste
(1) and
salt
.
6.
Fry
till dry and then
add
ground paste
(2) and
stir
for one or two minutes.
7.
Serve
as a dry curry along with rice.
