Goan Fish Head Curry

Ingredients

• • Fish head - 500 grams
• • Oil - 50 milliliters
• • Tomato - 100 grams
• • Curry leaf - 10 leaves
• • Turmeric - 1 teaspoon
• • Chilly powder - 1 tablespoon
• • Coconut milk - ½ cup
• • Salt - as required

Ingredients For Paste

• • Onions - 2
• • Coconut grateds - ½ cup
• • Coriander seeds - 4 teaspoons
• • Cumin seeds - 2 teaspoons
• • Peppercorns - 1 tablespoon
• • Green chilly - 4 pieces
• • Ginger-garlic paste - 2 tablespoons
• • Vinegar - ½ cup

Method

• 1. Cut the fish heads into required sizes and clean them well.
• 2. Chop the onions into small pieces and add it in a grinder, add grated coconut, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, peppercorns, green chillies, ginger-garlic paste and vinegar. Grind them well into a paste and set aside.
• 3. Heat oil in a pan and add chopped tomato and saute it for 3 - 5 minutes. Add the paste, turmeric powder, chilly powder, cook it for 5 minutes.
• 4. Now add the fish heads in the pan and cook it well by adding 1 cup of water and bringing it to boil. Add salt to taste while cooking so that it mixes well.
• 5. Once you find the fish heads cooked, add coconut milk and let it boil for 5 minutes.
• 6. Garnish with curry leaves, the aromatic Goan Fish Head Curry is ready to be served hot on a bed of cooked rice.
