Garlic Prawns

Ingredients

Prawn (medium size)
- ½ kg
Ingredients For Marination
•
Eggs
- 2
•
Maida
- 2 tablespoons
•
Cornflours
- 1 tablespoon
•
Pepper
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Baking powder
- a pinch
•
Salt
- as required
•
Oil (for frying)
- as required
Ingredients For Sauce
•
Garlic (crushed & chopped)
- 15 flakes
•
Red chillies (dried, prepare: soak in water for 10 min, drained and ground to paste)
- 10

Tomato puree
- 4 tablespoons
•
Soya sauce
- 1 tablespoon
•
Tomato ketchup
- 1 tablespoon
•
Chilly garlic sauce
- 1 tablespoon
•
Sugar
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Salt
- as required
•
Cornflours (prepare: dissolved in 1 cup water)
- 1 teaspoon
Method
1. Shell,
devein
,
wash
& pat dry the
prawns
on a clean kitchen towel.
2.
Mix
egg
,
maida
,
cornflour
,
salt
,
pepper
&
baking
powder
in a bowl.
3.
Marinade
the
prawns
in it for ½ hour.
4.
Heat
oil
and
fry
the
prawns
on medium
heat
one by one.
Remove
from fire.
5.
Heat
3 Tablespoon
oil
in a nonstick pan.
Add
the
garlic
,
cook
till light brown.
6.
Reduce
flame.
Add
red chilly
paste
,
tomato puree
,
soya sauce
,
ketchup
,
sugar
&
salt
.
7.
Stir
for a few seconds.
Add
1 cup
water
.
Boil
.
8.
Add
the dissolved
cornflour
.
Stir
till the
sauce
thickens.
9.
Add
the
prawns
and
cook
till the
sauce
coats the
prawns
.
10. Can
cook
garlic
fish
the same way, use 2 inch
fish
pieces without bones.
