Fried Onion Chutney

Ingredients

Onion (big)
- ½ kg
•
Red chillies
- 10
•
Tamarind (soaked in water)
- small lime size
•
Jaggery (grated)
- a little
•
Salt
- as required
•
Coconut (grated, fresh)
- 2 teaspoons
•
Grams (roasted)
- 1 tablespoon
•
Turmeric powder
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Asafoetidas
- a little
•
Oil
- 2 tablespoons
•
Mustard seeds
- ½ teaspoon
•
Curry leaves
- 2 sprigs
Method
1.
Peel
and
dice
onions
.
2.
Grind
red chillies
,
salt
,
jaggery
,
coconut
,
tamarind
and roasted
gram
together in a mixie
3.
Add
onions
at the end and
grind
coarsely.
4.
Heat
oil
in a pan,
add
mustard seeds
,
curry leaves
,
asafoetida
and then
ground paste
.
5.
Stir
fry
for few minutes.
