Fresh Peas Masala

Ingredients
•
Peas (fresh)
- 1 cup
•
Onions
- 2
•
Tomatoes
- 3
•
Tamarind
- lime size
•
Jaggery
- as required
•
Salt
- as required
•
Mustard seeds
- ½ teaspoon
Ingredients For Masala
•
Dhania
- 1 tablespoon
•
Cumin seeds
- ½ teaspoon
•
Pepper
- 7
•
Red chillies
- 8
•
Coconut (fresh, grated)
- ½ cup
Method
1.
Fry
all
masala
ingredients
in a teaspoon of
oil
and
grind
with scraped fresh
coconut
.
Keep
aside.
2.
Cut
onion
and
tomatoes
into 1 inch thick square pieces.
3.
Soak
tamarind
and take thick extract.
4.
Heat
3 Tablespoons of
oil
in pressure pan, or in cooker body itself and
add
mustard seeds
.
5. When it splutters
add
onions
and
fry
till translucent.
6.
Mix
peas
and
fry
for a minute.
7. And then
add
ground
masala
,
fry
for a few more minutes.
8.
Pour
tamarind
extract,
salt
,
jaggery
,
cut
tomatoes
, with enough
water
and
cover
the lid.
9.
Reduce
flame and
Cook
for 7 to 10 minutes after the whistle or
keep
till two whistle comes.
10. Dry
peas
also can be substituted here, which is soaked 7 hours previously.
11.
Cook
for few more minutes.
12.
Serve
with rice flour chapatis or maida chapatis.
