Ingredients

Fish (cut into 2 inch pieces)
- 500 grams
•
Onions (ground to paste)
- 2
•
Tomato (chopped)
- 1

Mustard oil (for frying)
- ¾ cup
Ingredients For Grinding To A Fine Paste

Garlic
- 10 flakes
•
Ginger
- 2 inches
•
Peanuts
- 2 tablespoons
•
Rais/Mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon
•
Whole dry red chillies
- 3
Ingredients For Saboot Garam Masala
•
Bay leaf
- 1
•
Moti elaichi
- 1
•
Laungs
- 3
•
Dalchini stick
- 2 inches
Ingredients For Marination
•
Haldis
- 1 teaspoon
•
Juice of lemon
- 1
•
Salt
- as required
Method
1.
Wash
the
fish
and pat dry on a clean kitchen towel.
2. Rub the
fish
with
haldi
,
salt
&
lemon
juice.
3.
Keep
aside to
marinate
for hour.
4.
Heat
oil
& lightly
fry
the
fish
on medium
heat
and
remove
from
oil
.
5. In the same
oil
,
add
the saboot garam
masalas
.
Stir
for a few seconds.
6.
Add
the
onion
,
cook
till
onions
turn golden brown.
7.
Add
tomato
and
cook
till
tomato
turns soft.
8.
Add
the freshly
ground paste
to the
masala
.
9.
Add
salt
&
haldi
powder
and
cook
on low flame till the
oil
separates and the
masala
turns into a rich golden colour.
10.
Add
2-3 cups of
water
, enough to
get
a gravy. Bring to a
boil
.
11.
Add
the
fish
, lower the flame and
cover
&
cook
for 1 minute.
12. Sprinkle garam
masala
& green coriander.
13.
Serve
hot with plain boiled rice.
