Egg Koftas In Tomato Gravy

Ingredients For The Koftas
•
Eggs (hard-boiled)
- 4
•
Besan/Gram flour
- 2 teaspoons
•
Onion (finely chopped)
- 1
•
Green chillies (finely chopped)
- 2
•
Egg (white only)
- 1
•
Pudinas/Mint leaves (finely chopped)
- 1 tablespoon
•
Hara dhania/Green coriander (finely chopped)
- 1 tablespoon
•
Chilly powder
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Black pepper powder
- ½ teaspoon
•
Salt
- as required
•
Oil (for deep frying)
- as required
Ingredients For The Gravy
•
Oil
- 2 tablespoons
•
Onion (grated)
- 1
•
Ginger paste
- ½ teaspoon
•
Garlic paste
- ½ teaspoon
•
Chilly powder
- ½ teaspoon
•
Salt
- as required
•
Tomato puree
- ¾ cup
•
Green chillies (slit lengthwise)
- 2
•
Garam masala
- ½ teaspoon
•
Cheese (grated)
- 2 tablespoons
Method
1.
Grate
the hard boiled
eggs
finely.
2. Combine with remaining kofta
ingredients
, except
oil
.
3.
Mix
well and shape into round or oval koftas.
4. Deep
fry
in hot
oil
until golden,
drain
and
keep
aside.
5. For the gravy,
fry
onion
until golden brown.
6.
Add
ginger
-
garlic pastes
and
fry
for 2-3 minutes.
7.
Add
red
chilly powder
and
fry
for a minute.
8.
Add
tomato Puree
,
green chillies
,
salt
and
garam masala
.
9.
Cook
for 7-10 minutes then gently
add
the koftas.
10.
Cover
and leave to
simmer
till heated through.
11. Garnish with
mint leaves
and grated
cheese
and
serve
.
