Ingredients

Thuar dal
- ½ cup
•
Coconut (grated)
- ½ cup
•
Ginger
- 1 inch piece
•
Garlic
- 6 flakes
•
Onions
- 2
•
Green chillies
- 4
•
Tomatoes
- 2
•
Salt
- as required
•
Turmeric powder
- ½ teaspoon
•
Jeera
- ½ teaspoon
Ingredients For Garnishing

Curry leaves
- 1 sprig
•
Coriander leaves
- 1 teaspoon
Method
1.
Cut
onions
,
slice
tomatoes
and slit
green chillies
into two.
2.
Grind
coconut
,
ginger
and
garlic
together.
3.
Cook
dal
in pressure cooker with enough
water
and
turmeric powder
.
4.
Heat
oil
and
fry
onions
till transparent.
5.
Add
chillies
,
tomatoes
and
fry
for few more minutes.
6.
Mix
cooked
dal
with ground
mixture
and
salt
.
7.
Cook
till raw smell is lost.
8. Toast
jeera
in hot ghee and
add
it with
curry leaves
, and
coriander leaves
to the
dal
.
9.
Serve
hot for pulkas, with squeezed lime.
