Ingredients For Grinding Together

Cashew nuts
- 1 ½ tablespoons

Coconut (grated)

Ingredients For Dahi Bhindi

Oil
- 2 tablespoons

Bhindi
- 250 grams
•
Asafoetidas
- a pinch
•
Mustard seeds
- ½ teaspoon
•
Cumin seeds
- ½ teaspoon
•
Urad dal
- 1 teaspoon
•
Red chillies (dry)
- 2
•
Curry leaves
- 2 sprigs
•
Onion (chopped)
- 1
•
Ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon
•
Red chilly powder
- 1 teaspoon
•
Turmeric powder
- ½ teaspoon
•
Garam masala
- 1 teaspoon
•
Mango powder (dry)
- 1 ½ teaspoons
•
Tomatoes (chopped)
- 2
•
Fenugreek
- ½ teaspoon
•
Yogurt
- 250 milliliters
•
Water
- as required
•
Salt
- as required
Method
1.
Add
cashew nut
, grated
coconut
and 2 tablespoon
water
in a blender and
blend
it into a
paste
.
2.
Heat
oil
in a heavy skillet,
add
bhindi
and saute for 10 minutes on a low
heat
till they change color and are cooked.
Keep
aside
3.
Heat
oil
in a another heavy skillet,
add
asafoetida
,
mustard seeds
,
cumin seeds
,
urad dal
,
curry leaves
and dry
red chilly
and
stir
well.
4.
Add
onions
,
ginger-garlic paste
and saute till the
onions
changes color or become translucent.
5.
Add
red chilly
,
turmeric powder
,
garam masala
and dry
mango powder
and
mix
it well.
6.
Add
tomato
and saute for 2 minutes.
Add
fenugreek
and
mix
well.
Cook
for 5 minutes.
7.
Add
the
cashew
paste
and saute till
oil
starts to
leaves
the sides of the
mixture
.
8.
Add
yogurt
, required
water
and
salt
and
stir
well.
9.
Add
the sauteed
bhindi
in it and
mix
well.
