Dahi Aloo

Ingredients

• • Potato - ¼ kg
• • Sour curd - 1 cup
• • Red chilly powder - 1 teaspoon
• • Turmeric powder - ½ teaspoon
• • Salt - as required
• • Dhania powder - 2 teaspoons
• • Cumin seeds - ½ teaspoon
• • Dahi masala powder - ¼ teaspoon
• • Oil - 3 tablespoons
• • Coriander leaves (for garnishing) - ¼ bunch

Ingredients For Dahi Masala

• • Ginger (dry) - 1 teaspoon
• • Cumin (roasted) - 1 teaspoon
• • Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
• • Black salt - 1 teaspoon

Method

• 1. First, make Dahi Masala. Powder each spice in "For Dahi Masala" ingredients separately and then mix together. Preserve in a clean dry bottle.
• 2. Pressure cook potatoes, peel and mash.
• 3. Heat ghee in a pan, add cumin, turmeric, chilly powder, dhania powder, dahi masala and salt.
• 4. Fry for a minute, then add mashed potatoes.
• 5. Fry for another few minutes, then mix curds and cook on a slow fire for 5 to 6 minutes, or till oil is separated.
• 6. Garnish with chopped coriander before serving.
