Ingredients
•
Rice (raw)
- 2 cups
•
Coconut
- 1
•
Green chillies
- 10
•
Sour curd
- 2 cups
•
Salt
- 2 ½ teaspoons
•
Onions (finely cut)
- ¼ cup
(optional)
•
Curry leaves
- few
•
Oil
- 4 tablespoons
Ingredients For Seasoning
•
Mustard seeds
- ½ teaspoon
•
Black gram dal
- 1 teaspoon
•
Bengal gram dal
- 1 ½ teaspoons
Method
1.
Soak
rice
for 2 hours.
2.
Grind
it to coarse rawa consistency with
green chillies
and grated
coconut
.
3.
Add
salt
and
sour curd
and dilute the
ground paste
to dosa batter consistency.
4.
Heat
oil
in a heavy deep curved pan,
add
seasonings
curry leaves
and
onion
.
5. When it is fried
add
ground paste
and
stir
constantly in medium flame till it is cooked.
6. When
oil
separates from the upma
remove
from fire.
Note - Easy Method
• This can be pressure cooked directly in pressure cooker or pan.

Heat
oil
,
add
seasonings
.
•
Mix
ground paste
and
reduce
flame.
•
Stir
till it becomes thick.
•
Cover
lid and
keep
weight on.
•
Reduce
flame completely and
cook
for 10 minutes.
• Switch off the stove and after few minutes, open lid and
mix
well.
