Chicken Tikka Masala

Ingredients
•
Boneless chicken
- 500 grams
Ingredients For Marination
•
Garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon
•
Ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon
•
Curd
- 2 tablespoons
•
Kala namaks/Rock salt
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon
•
Salt
- as required
•
Kashmiri mirches
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Red food colouring
- a few drops
Ingredients For Masala
•
Onions (large, roughly chopped)
- 2
•
Tomatoes (big, roughly chopped)
- 6
•
Ginger (roughly chopped)
- 2 inch pieces
•
Garlic (chopped)
- 6 flakes
•
Garam masala
- 1 teaspoon
•
Red chilly powder
- ½ teaspoon
•
Salt
- as required
•
Malai
- 2 tablespoons
•
Oil
- 5 tablespoons
Ingredients For Garnishing
•
Green chillies (cut into strips)
- 2
•
Ginger
- 1 inch
Method
1.
Cut
the
boneless chicken
into 2 inch tikkas.
2.
Mix
all the
ingredients
given under
marinade
together and rub the tikkas with them.
Marinate
for 2 hours.
3.
Heat
2 Tablespoon
oil
in a pan.
4.
Add
the marinated
chicken
along with the
marinade
and
cook
on high flame for about 2 min or till dry,
stirring
all the while.
5.
Remove
from fire.
6. In the same
oil
,
add
roughly chopped
onion
,
tomato
,
ginger
&
garlic
.
7.
Cook
on medium
heat
until
onions
&
tomatoes
turn a little soft.
8.
Remove
from fire.
9. Cool the
onion
-
tomato
mixture
and
blend
to a smooth
paste
in a mixer.
10.
Heat
2-3 Tablespoon
oil
in a clean pan.
Add
the
onion
-
tomato
paste
.
Cook
until
masala
thickens a little.
11.
Add
the tikkas and
cook
covered on slow flame till
chicken
is tender &
oil
separates.
Reduce
flame.
12.
Add
malai
and
stir
for 1 minute.
Serve
garnished with slit
green chillies
&
ginger
match sticks.
