Chana Ghassi

Ingredients

• • Potatoes - 3
• • White kabuli channas - ½ cup
• • Onions (chopped) - 3 tablespoons
• • Salt - as required

Ingredients For Grinding Together

• • Red chillies - 7
• • Coriander seeds - 1 tablespoon
• • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon

Ingredients For Seasoning

• • Oil - 1 tablespoon
• • Mustard seeds - ¼ teaspoon
• • Garlic (crushed) - 3 flakes

Method

• 1. Dry roast the "For Grinding together" spices separately and grind with ½ cup of grated fresh coconut, little tamarind and few pieces of garlic.
• 2. Soak channa for 8 to 10 hours in water.
• 3. Pressure cook channa and potatoes for 15 minutes.
• 4. Peel potatoes and cut into big cubes.
• 5. Add ground paste, to potato and channa along with salt, enough water and cook till gravy becomes thick.
• 6. Fry the seasoning in oil, add onions and fry till golden brown.
• 7. Add to the boiling gravy and cook for few more minutes.
