Chakka Ada

Ingredients
•
Jackfruit ripens (chopped and grinded)
- 2 cups
•
Jaggery (melted)
- 1 cup
•
Rice flour
- 2 cups
•
Coconut (chopped)
- 1 tablespoon
•
Coconut (grated)
- 1 tablespoon
•
Cardamom powder
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Ghee
- 2 teaspoons
•
Banana leaves (cut into small pieces)
- 10
•
Water
- ½ cup
Method
1.
Melt
Jaggery
in 1/2 cup
water
and filter impurities,
boil
until it thickens to attain the consistency of honey in a broad thick bottomed pan.
2. In a saucepan
add
the melted
jaggery
and
rice flour
,
mix
well.
3.
Add
grounded jackfruit in the
mixture
and again
mix
well.
4.
Add
chopped
coconut
, grated
coconut
,
cardamom powder
&
ghee
and
mix
well.
Keep
the
mix
aside to cool down.
5. Take the
banana leaves
(small size) and put 1 Tablespoon of the
mix
on each,
spread
the
mix
by hand into a thin
layer
(like chapati) and fold them.
6. Steam the
leaves
in a steamer for about 10 minutes until it is cooked.
7. Chakka Ada is ready to
serve
with hot tea or coffee.
