Ingredients

Rice
- 1 cup
•
Green gram dal
- ½ cup
•
Jaggery (grated)
- 1 ¼ cups
•
Cardamom powder
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Cashew nuts
- 10
•
Ghee (for frying)
- as required
•
Coconut extract (thick)
- 1 ½ cups
Method
1.
Cook
rice
and
dal
together in
water
till it becomes soft and creamy.
2.
Add
grated
jaggery
and
cook
in reduced flame till it melts completely.
3.
Add
coconut extract
and
cook
for another one minute.
Remove
from fire.
4.
Fry
sliced
cashew nuts
in
ghee
,
mix
cardamom powder
in that hot
ghee
and
add
to the payasam.
