Button Mushroom Curry

Ingredients

Onions

Button mushroom
- 400 grams
•
Oil (for frying)
- as required
•
Salt
- as required
•
Mustard seeds
- ½ teaspoon
•
Curry leaves
- 1 sprig
•
Asafoetidas
- a pinch
Ingredients For Grinding To A Paste
•
Red chillies
- 8
•
Dhania
- 1 tablespoon
•
Jeera
- 1 teaspoon
•
Pepper
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Cashew nuts
- 10
•
Tomatoes
- 2
•
Coconut (grated)
- ½ cup
•
Onion (roasted)
- 1
•
Jaggery
- 1 teaspoon
(optional)
Method
1.
Peel
and
chop
onions
finely .
2.
Wash
mushrooms
properly and
cut
into medium sized pieces.
3.
Heat
oil
in a broad
frying
pan,
add
mustard
,
curry leaves
and then
asafoetida
.
4. When it splutters
add
onions
and
fry
till transparent.
5. Put
mushrooms
and
stir
constantly till it is fried.
6.
Roast
the
ingredients
listed "for
grinding
to a
paste
" with a little
oil
and
grind
to
paste
.
7.
Add
ground paste
with enough
salt
and
jaggery
(optional) with little
water
.
8.
Cook
till the gravy becomes thick.
9.
Serve
with rice flour chapatis or pulkas.
